Seniors In Service

Not sure where to volunteer? You’re in the right place here at the Seniors in Service web page.

The primary mission of Seniors in Service is to provide solutions to community challenges by engaging volunteers. If you happen to be 55 or older, there are special, nationally sponsored, but local, programs in which you can get involved. These programs work with our most senior citizens, our youth, and our veterans. Seniors in Service can help you decide whether these or other, local programs, such as the ones found on the home page, are the best fit your desires, your skills, the time you have to spare, where you live, and which areas which might utilize your passions.

The place to start is with a conversation with Glarisol Traspalacios, Senior program Manager at Seniors in Service.

Glarisol embodies the mission of Seniors in Service. She has been committed to advancing Seniors in Service’s objectives since 2009 by minimizing risk, increasing efficiencies and generating value for both the Senior Companion Program (SCP) and Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Glarisol’s commitment and passion has lifted her in the organization from Coordinator to Lead Coordinator to Manager.

In April 2016, Glarisol was promoted to Senior Program Manager for both the Senor Companion Program (SCP) and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

For over 16 years, she has had an extensive experience working with older adults in the areas of social service, fitness, community outreach and engagement, program development and volunteer management. Glarisol is passionate about working with older adults, training volunteers and connecting people for greater impact in the community. Glarisol holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and a Master’s Degree on Management and Leadership of Human Services from Springfield College, as well as a Certification of Nursing Assistant.

Glarisol demonstrates her greatest strength of inclusion and understanding with this quote, “Change is OK. We must move forward all together. I look forward to every day we get to help and serve each other.”

Her Phone number is (813) 932-5228, ext. 237
