Our volunteers will pack the foods in the proper portions to make a vacuum-sealed packet containing three meals per packet. \nIt’s a nutritionally balanced\, shelf-safe dinner for a family. And when the time comes to cook the meals\, all it takes is one pot on the stove and 30 minutes. Our volunteers will make it possible for more needy people to have simple\, nutritional food this holiday season. We are so grateful for your generosity! \nPlease register- this event WILL fill up.

SUMMARY:2017 Sunshine Summit to End Hunger Food Packing
DESCRIPTION:To kick off the 2017 National Sunshine Summit to End Hunger\, we have decided to try and bring the community together and have a meal-packing volunteer event! We are trying to recruit around 1\,000 wonderful volunteers (such as yourself) to help pack food into family sized meal bags to be distributed to food pantries across Tampa Bay. We are looking for people to help weigh/measure food\, seal packages\, and bag up the food! There will be seating available for those who want/need it. The food that we are packing is generously being provided by Meals of Hope Tampa\, and they are providing 250\,000 meals worth of food. However\, we can only send out as much as we pack\, so we would really appreciate your support! \nThis volunteer event takes place from 7:00-10:00 AM (7-8 sign in\, 8-10 meal packing) on November 6th at the promenade (outdoor plaza) at the Amalie Arena. We’d love it if you could make it out and help support us! Volunteers will be given light refreshments\, nametags\, and the opportunity to stay for the opening of the conference to watch our keynote speaker!  We are recommending that you park at the South Regional garage right next to the Arena\, but there are also other Amalie Arena owned lots you can park at. If you are interested in signing up\, please click on this link. If you are signing up a group (business\, school\, church)\, only one person needs to actually sign up\, but they need to state how many people will be in their group. Once you get to the website\, scroll to the bottom and check the box next to “sign up”\, and then select submit and sign up to enter your information. Please email me if you have any questions! \nWe also have a few volunteer positions available (registration table\, set up\, etc) during the conference itself (8:00 AM-5:00 PM on November 6th\, and 8:00 AM-3:30 PM November 7th). The shifts wouldn’t last the entire day\, obviously\, these are just the time frames that volunteers would be needed at. If anyone is interested in these positions\, please have them email me at tyler.hoerst@networktoendhunger.org. Thanks for your interest!
