Staying Connected During the Holidays and Beyond
The holidays can bring warmth and celebration — but for many isolated seniors, they can also deepen feelings of loneliness. Through the TelePals program, Seniors in Service volunteers are creating meaningful connections that remind seniors they are cared for, valued, and never alone. What begins as a simple phone call often grows into genuine friendship, bringing comfort and companionship during the holiday season and throughout the year.
For many, holidays are beloved for the sense of togetherness they instill. It’s a time to rest, spend time with family, friends, and loved ones. But for others, it’s not quite as joyful due to loneliness and isolation. Thankfully, our TelePals program matched 78 clients to volunteers to make friendly phone calls so no one would feel alone during this time, the holiday season, and beyond.
