We Partied Like It’s 1984 at Our Volunteer Celebration

Forty years of service deserves a celebration full of joy, gratitude, and connection. Seniors in Service volunteers gathered for an unforgettable 1980s-themed anniversary celebration honoring the people who have spent decades mentoring children, supporting seniors, feeding families, and strengthening communities across Tampa Bay. More than a party, the event reflected on the lasting impact of service and the relationships built through four decades of showing up for others.
We turned back the clock to 1984 to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and the volunteers who have helped build Seniors in Service's legacy! That's four decades of impactful volunteerism, tutoring and mentoring children, providing companionship to seniors, feeding hungry families, supporting veterans, and so much more!
Dressed in colorful 80's attire we celebrated our successes and reflected on our journey of serving, connecting, and growing together. The party started with a video highlighting our legacy, impact, and growth over the past 40 years. Then we introduced “The Year of Connection,” which you read about in the CEO Letter, and we took time to build connection through gratitude. Everyone wrote a thank you card to someone they appreciate as a way to build and strengthen their own relationships and inspire others to incorporate connection in their daily lives! Together, we enjoyed good food, music, 80's trivia, and 80's music bingo. But, most importantly, we celebrated how service to others fosters a vibrant community of belonging.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, from 1984 to present year, we appreciate your dedication to transforming lives!
