Bridging Generations Breakfast Inspires Community to Take Action!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Bridging Generations Breakfast and made it a successful fundraiser. We had an inspirational morning filled with many of our community partners and leaders, testimonials shared by our volunteers, and a mutual desire to make a lasting change for future generations!

We’re excited to announce thanks to many generous donations, we raised a total of $24,353 to continue to make an impact in our community! Each dollar raised goes directly to helping us provide one-on-one tutoring to students, build volunteer capacity for a food pantry to provide food for hungry individuals, provide living essentials for homeless veterans moving into their forever homes, and provide companionship to isolated seniors. It’s exciting to see the dedication and passion of this community in action. Together, we’re making a difference!

A huge thank you to our guest speaker Dr. Bill Haley, a dedicated professor at USF School of Aging Studies. We were honored to have him share his knowledge about the increasing scientific research documenting the benefits of volunteering on improving psychological well-being, physical health, cognition, longevity, and resilience in volunteers. 

As part of his presentation, he asked our volunteers to share their stories about how being a volunteer had been good for their well-being and health. Thank you to the volunteers who shared their testimonials and left the room feeling so moved.
