2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares

Provides quick and easy access to information about health and human services. Referral specialists work with callers to assess their needs and determine their options to provide appropriate programs/services, give support, intervene in crisis situations and advocate for the caller as needed. Hillsborough County Aging Services

Hillsborough County Aging Services offers a myriad of services designed to enhance the lives of older adults age 50 and over. For active adult programming, in-home services, a hot meal, and referral services, Aging Services is your one-stop location for older adult services. Visit Website

Hillsborough County Health Plan

Hillsborough County Health Care Plan is a comprehensive free managed care program for Hillsborough County residents with limited income and assets who do not qualify for other health care coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid. The program is funded by a special sales tax and administered by Hillsborough County. There are no premiums or copays for services covered by the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan.                   Visit Website

Hillsborough County Veterans Services

Hillsborough County’s Veterans Services serves as a single point of contact for assisting all Veterans and their families in accessing federal, state and local benefits. The office staff supports Veteran’s activities in the County and connects Veterans to useful resources whether living in assisted living facilities, nursing homes or private residences. South Shore Coalition for Mental Health and Aging

State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs

The Department of Elder Affairs administers programs and services for elders across the state of Florida through 11 Area Agencies on Aging, which operate Aging and Disability Resource Centers for information and access to services for all Floridians seeking long-term care resources. The ADRCs provide information and assistance about state and federal benefits, as well as available local programs and services. Visit Website

Tampa Housing Authority - Elderly Homeless Waitlist

Click below and register to be on the waitlist for public housing. The 1 and 2 bedroom project based waitlist is open for literally homeless elderly individuals. Project based rental assistance is a subsidized program whereas the rental portion is based on 30% of adjusted income. The subsidy remains at the property and is not portable or transferrable. People on the list will be selected when there is an available unit and will be contacted to determine property and agency level eligibility. Elderly is defined as 62 years of age and older.
Homelessness is defined as:
1. Has a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not meant for
human habitation; or
2. Is living in a publicly or privately operated shelter designated to provide
temporary living arrangements (including congregate shelters, transitional
housing, and hotels and motels paid for by charitable organizations or by federal,
state and local government programs); or
3. Is exiting an institution where (s)he has resided for 90 days or less and who
resided in an emergency shelter or place not meant for human habitation
immediately before entering that institution
4. Fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence and have no other residence, lack
of resources or support to obtain permanent housing
