The Firehouse Cultural Center, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, was first developed and sponsored as a project of the Ruskin Community Development Foundation (RCDF), a nonprofit focused on supporting the development of significant community projects

The Vision of the Firehouse Cultural Center is to be a multi-use, cultural and educational facility that is a vital catalyst and a resource for the diverse SouthShore community and region.
Mission
The Mission of the Firehouse Cultural Center is to offer quality programming with a focus on a full spectrum of the arts, and on education for all ages. Center programs encourage participation, engagement, discovery and learning. Firehouse Center will offer experiential connections to the arts and to the unique history, culture and natural environment of the south county region.
The Center stimulates, supports and encourages economic opportunity, contributing to Ruskin’s downtown development and to building a tangible sense of place.
Firehouse Cultural Center regularly offers musical specials, and comedy nights and plays. The also hold art and craft classes for both adults and kids.

Following is a description of the volunteer position.
Location: Firehouse Cultural Center 101 1st Ave NE Ruskin, Fl 33570
Purpose of the Position:
Volunteers are the frontline of experience for events to run and operate smoothly. Live performances include music, theater and comedy which help support our scholarships for children and adults.
Volunteering for fund raising events ensure the success of the events, allowing FCC to accommodate more participants. Being a small not for profit, volunteers provide a pathway for FCC to increase our offering of classes, workshops, community events and live programming
Responsibilities:
For live events, check in guests, directing seating area to assigned tables, referring to staff is questions, ensuring guests are enjoying the event and event runs smoothly. Direct traffic flow of attendees, either by check in or table assignment, assisting in beverage stations, event set up and/or tear down.
Qualifications:
Polite, Friendly, Outgoing personalities, no task that complicated
Commitment:
You can volunteer as much or as little as you like. Any time you’re willing to give is greatly appreciated. Be aware that for live events, after check in is complete volunteers can either enjoy the show or leave. Community events are usually no more than 2 – 4 hours. FCC respects any limitations volunteers may have and will accommodate accordingly.
Training will be done on site for live performances, most position require minimal verbal training. Community events, may require learning a craft to assist others.
