Volunteer Opportunities for Veterans and Military Family Members to Help Veterans and Military Families
Operation: Veteran Connect volunteers can help military families and veterans in so many ways
Operation: Veteran Connect provides 55+ volunteers with the opportunity to support veterans or military families. Are you a veteran or military family member who is asking, “How can I help veterans or military families?” There’s a special language spoken by those who have been in the service or are in a military family. Sometimes, only veterans or military family members can speak to another veteran or a child in a military family in a way that makes sense. Operation: Veteran Connect has joined with AmeriCorps Florida and the James A. Haley VA Hospital in its innovative “Whole Health” initiative to provide veterans and military families with coaching to empower them to take control of their wellness and live life to the fullest. Operation: Veteran Connect provides support for the military and veteran community. Volunteer opportunities can include tutoring/mentoring a child from a military family, companion services to homebound veterans or companion services to veterans in a VA hospital. Volunteers receive pre-service orientation, training and ongoing support to maximize their experience.
