After School Tutor
TITLE: After School Tutor
DEPARTMENT: Case Management
Service Description: At Metropolitan Ministries’ affordable housing complex, Sabal Place, located in Seffner, you would be providing after-school tutoring to children of varying ages. Many of the families at Sabal Place have successfully participated in our residential program and have transitioned to self-sufficiency. We want to make sure that we are adequately supporting our clients during this period. After-school tutoring is an effective forum for supporting children’s further development and success in the future. The subjects for tutoring may include math, science, social studies, and/or literacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Each volunteer would be responsible for assisting any child that comes into the Sabal Place office with current homework and/or projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred background in education, but not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Microsoft Office Certification, 1 year-working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work well with children; basic understanding of computer technology required.
CLA Assistant
TITLE: CLA Assistant
Service Description: Assisting CLAs to support residents at the CLA desk
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helping with the front desk
- Helping residents with supplies
- Posting announcements
- Checking mail
QUALIFICATIONS: Organizing, general office skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Office experience or working in a non-profit setting is preferred but not required
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Basic office skills, customer service skills
AVAILABILITY: Tuesdays 10-1
Intake Volunteer Leader
TITLE: Intake Volunteer Leader
DEPARTMENT: Residential Services
POSITION PROFILE: Assisting with connecting housing resources with homeless clients
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Calling and emailing clients who are in need of housing
- Matching clients with programs that fit their needs
- Processing and tracking client paperwork through application steps
- Must be computer literate and comfortable working with people in crisis
QUALIFICATIONS: Strong computer skills, ability to speak on the phone, organization skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience working with clients in trauma/crisis is preferred but not required. Ability to hear clients’ needs and connect them to the best program without trying to “save” the client or do it for them.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Computer skills, sanctuary training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to speak on the phone and work at a desk
OTHER: Sanctuary training will be provided, as will training on intake processes, new Dynamics 365 system, and UNITY
SCHEDULE: Flexible M-F with a minimum of 10 hours per week
Vehicle Caretaker
TITLE: Vehicle Caretaker
DEPARTMENT: Safety & Security
POSITION PROFILE: The volunteer leader would come in and take care of our vehicles once a week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check vehicles for scratches or dings.
- Check the oil.
- Fill gas.
- Wash vehicles when needed.
- Drive vehicles to the shop when needed.
- Drive to different locations – Pasco, Brandon & ETC. We would Uber them back as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Driver’s License, clean driving record & time management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Understanding of car preventative maintenance
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: N/A
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: N/A
OTHER: Available once a week
FDOT Vehicle and Fleet Associate
DEPARTMENT: Safety & Security
POSITION PROFILE: Assist with the needs of the MetroMin fleet and the FDOT vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recordkeeping, minor maintenance needs, driver oversight, of all MetMin and FDOT vehicles
QUALIFICATIONS: Clean driver record, vehicle maintenance knowledge, and previous experience with FDOT requirements are preferred but not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate, GED, or technical education
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, & Outlook
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit at a desk, lift 10-15 lbs on occasion,
OTHER: Ability to file docs and manage existing files on drivers
AVAILABILITY: 2-3 days per week, 10am-3pm, Tues-Thurs
Microsoft 365 Technical Writer and Trainer
DEPARTMENT: IT
POSITION PROFILE: Help bridge the gap of learning Sharepoint for the Process Improvement and Outcomes teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess the MM Sharepoint site; recommend best practices, tips, and tricks.
- Create an easy-to-follow Sharepoint manual to guide us through some of the functionality of Metro Connect.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Sharepoint. Technical writing skills.
