We’re proud to be part of the Wimauma Community Education Partnership. The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and its South Shore Council have created this new, innovative approach to collaboration. They are bringing together all the stakeholders of the Wimauma community and determining community need and priorities with everyone chiming in to move forward on initiatives immediately. The first meeting was held last fall and it was determined that Wimauma needed an early literacy intervention quickly. Stakeholders were able to gather the resources to implement an expanded VPK program this past summer. 62 kids who would not have gone to VPK are now ready and excited to start Kindergarten this fall thanks to the Partnership. We are proud to be a part of the Wimauma Community Education Partnership with Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, South Shore Council, Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Hillsborough County Public Schools (VPK, Head Start, Early Literacy, Wimauma Elementary, Reddick Elementary), RCMA, Hispanic Services Council, Wimauma CDC, and many others.
